Another Olympian's story is on its way to the big screen!
This time it’s the weightlifter Karanam Malleswari who’s getting the cinematic treatment! Kona Venkat has acquired the rights to tell the tale of India’s first female Olympic medallist, who made the whole nation cheer as one when she bagged a bronze at the 2000 Sydney games. Karanam remains the only Indian woman to have placed on the podium in the weightlifting categories at the Olympics, so she certainly deserves her own film!
